Heading out

Leaving the Legislature after the rally to amend Bill 2.  Crowd counters had us at over 2000 strong.

Now remember, Mr. Lukaszuk - we read twitter, too.

Taking a break

Am at the Alberta Legislature for a rally. We were to meet at 10:30 then split by riding to talk to oir MLAs directly, first. We were not allowed to see our MLAs without an appointment, so we are talking a break until things officially start at noon.

Unfortunately, there are people trying to hijack the event.  Someone tried to force their way in, "in the name of Jesus."  There are also 3 people walking back and forth with a stop sign reading "stop abortion." Nothing to do with us, but who's willing to bet it will show up in the media and twisted around somehow?

Pampas supper

Menu

Roasted chicken drumsticks
Roast leg of lamb
Pork sausage
Garlic steak
Parmesan pork loin
Bacon wrapped chicken thighs
Beef ribs
Bottom sirloin
Rump steak
Ribeye steak

Best so far:
rump steak
Bottom sirloin
Ribeye steak

So we've come back to Pampas for a birthday supper. Always a pleasure, I was surprised to find my usual favorite bottom sirloin coming in second behind an outstanding rump steak

At the Alberta Legislature

Homeschooler's protest to amend Bill 2

Today, the girls and I walked over to the Alberta Legislature to take part in a protest to have a proposed bill that would affect homeschoolers amended. The photo I took with my phone and posted previously was taken about half an hour before everything was set to start. By the time things got going, an estimated 350 people were there, with more coming in during the hour it took place. At its height, there were an estimated 500 people. Some drove 6 hours to attend.

Of course, being homeschoolers, there are a LOT of kids there of all ages. I can't help but notice the very polite sign being held by several of them at the front. :-D
