I can't help it.  I am fascinated by Boris, and the new tank lets us see him so much better.

This was taken using a photo app called Camera Zoom fx and using the HD setting.  Minor adjustments were made for light and contrast.

‎We got the fish into a larger tank, 90 gallons. The new tank allows for some closer shots of the fish, which is a lot of fun.

‎The river valley is susceptible to some nice thermal inversions. Being lazy, all I took were phone camera shots, but they don't really do it justice.

New camera software

‎So I picked up a new camera application for my phone yesterday, and it seems to be fully functional. I wasn't sure what, if any, difference there would be between the software package and so far, they're both fairly good. The one thing I have noticed is that the new software seems to generate larger files. Here's hoping it translates to greater detail and resolution and not just to more noise.

Morning assistance

‎So every second day, I do morning weights with my daughter; it's good for me, it's good for her, and it seems to really, really interest the cats. As soon as there's more than two people up and about in the morning, they have to come over and greet. With the weights routine though, they actively assist, rubbing against the weights, against the legs, attacking the calves, lying down right under the weights.

It's a family event... :P

‎All right, I know I've done the pen before, but frankly, I love this thing. For the little amount of actual writing I actually do by hand, it's a wonder. It's now starting to look like a properly used pen, which means I'm running out of ink and am due to clean it up a bit :)

Such a beauty!

My daughter spotted this beautiful dragonfly on the edge of the sidewalk earlier today.  It allowed her to pick it up and hold it for quite a while.

Dragonflies are so beautiful!

I'm really pleased with the quality of photos from my phone.  I upgraded to the Galaxy S4 and, while it has some quirks and toys I don't like or want, I've been really happy with it overall.

The perks of morning walks...

‎Though I find the walks painful and uncomfortable, every once in a while they do have the odd side benefit. The only complaint I have is that I no longer have ready access to my favourite sunrise spot.
